Good evening Joanna!
A new initiative is presented to us from the National Philoptochos office. This initiative is for our Greek Orthodox Philoptochos Ladies Society to respond to a "call to action" and support our troops and veterans.
Please click on the encyclical below to read the full initiative.
This initiatve encourages Philoptochos Chapters to embrace one or more of the following projects as an expression of support for our troops and veterans.
The Archangel Michael Metropolitan's Choice Award was given to Georgia Croffead of Charleston, SC for her faithful and unceasing ministry to the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America. Georgia has served dedicatedly on the Metropolis Philoptochos Board as well as with the St. Photios Shrine.
The Awards Program was an exciting and inspiring highlight at the 2010 National Philoptochos Biennial Convention. We congratulate Dee Nicolaou for her hard work on this National Committee, as all the brochures and displays enhanced the involvement across the country.
Below are the lists of chapters and Metropolises which received awards for the various categories as well as the 2010 AGAPE recipients. We are very proud of our own Bella Kontinos who was recognized from our Metropolis as the AGAPE recipient--you can read about her accomplishments in the attached form.
Take a minute to to read the PROJECTS BROCHURE below to see the breadth of involvement of our Philoptochos Chapters across the country. You will find many wonderful ideas for your own chapter!
